	The Aussie Specialist Programme has been designed by Tourism Australia specifically for the retail travel trade. Who better to provide you with the most up to date information on every aspect of tourism to and around Australia? The on-line format of the Aussie Specialist Programme was created to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to sell Australia effectively. The on-line learning environment also allows you complete flexibility throughout the course – learn in your own time and at your own pace. But remember – don’t take too long. The sooner you qualify, the sooner you will reap the rewards of being a certified Aussie Specialist. The structure of the programme is simple and straightforward. There are four modules to complete, each with a short exam which needs to be passed with a score of at least 85% before you can move on to the next module. Once you’ve completed all four modules, the final exam will test your knowledge – successfully complete this, and you qualify. Each module covers various aspects of Australia: Introduction to Australia Features and attractions of each State and Territory Building effective itineraries Using your Aussie Specialist status to your best advantage We also provide you with the resources you need on-line – the modules take you through the topics and you have access to a comprehensive States and Territories reference section, the A-Z of Australian tourism experiences, and loads of images and interactive tools to make your training interesting and enjoyable, but above all, useful! Your membership lasts for 12 months from the date you register, and to remain on the programme, all you need to do is complete our renewal quiz. The renewal quiz is designed to ensure that you are kept up to date with developments in the Australian tourism industry. So what’s in it for you and your business?

Tourism Australia is the Federal Government statutory authority responsible for international and domestic tourism marketing as well as the delivery of research and forecasts for the sector.

Tourism Australia was ratified in the Australian Parliament on 18 June 2004 and officially commenced on 1 July 2004. The new organisation brings together the collective skills and knowledge of four separate organisations: the Australian Tourist Commission; See Australia; the Bureau of Tourism Research and Tourism Forecasting Council.

The main objectives of Tourism Australia under the Tourism Australia Act 2004 are to:

Influence Australians to travel throughout Australia, including for events;
Help foster a sustainable tourism industry in Australia; and
Help increase the economic benefits to Australia from tourism.

Tourism is represented in the Federal Cabinet by the Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources, a dedicated Minister for Small Business and Tourism, and a Parliamentary Secretary.

Tourism Australia is a statutory body subject to the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act 1997 (CAC Act). This recognises the commercial focus of the new body and the need for it to operate flexibly in a commercial environment.

1. Introduction

(a) In these terms and conditions, we or us means Tourism Australia.

(b) Please read these terms and conditions carefully as they apply to your use of this internet site (site). By using this site you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

(c) We may revise these terms and conditions from time to time by updating this posting. The revised terms will take effect when they are posted.

(a) We attempt to keep the content of the site up to date. However, we do not warrant the accuracy or currency of the content.

  (iii) any lawful and binding determination, decision or direction of a
  regulator in any country (or political sub-division of a country).

No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect server logs. The statistics and log files may be preserved indefinitely and used at any time and in any way necessary to prevent security breaches and to ensure the integrity of the information supplied by Tourism Australia.

In general on Tourism Australia websites, IP addresses (the Internet address of a computer) are logged to track a user's session while the user remains anonymous. We analyse this data for certain trends and statistics, such as which parts of our site users are visiting and how long they spend there.
